What an exciting week we have ahead of us!
The Scholastic Book Fair is on campus for the duration of next week: Monday, Oct. 14 - Friday, Oct. 18. The theme this year is Arctic Adventure: Snow Much to Read! Be sure to stop by and grab a new book or two.
Thursday, Oct. 17 is our next Legacy Dress Down Day! I cannot wait to see you each display your favorite sports teams! While it is sure to be a fun day, please remember to adhere to our Legacy Dress Code.
Lastly, our week will complete with our Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday, Oct. 18. These conferences are a great opportunity to sit down one-on-one with teachers to discuss accomplishments and/or concerns you might have.

Campus News
Teacher Professional Development Day - Half Day
Thursday, Oct. 17 will be a half day as our teachers have a professional development event in the afternoon. Please mark your calendars and plan accordingly!

No School
Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Friday, Oct. 18 from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. with a break for lunch from noon-1 p.m.
The Junior High core subject teachers will be in the gym. Specials and elective teachers will be in their classrooms. Each teacher will be available to meet with you during 15-minute meeting intervals. If you are in need of a longer conference time you will be able to sign up at that time to meet at a later date.
We are looking forward to seeing you.

Fall Break
Monday, Nov. 25-Friday, Nov. 29 is our fall break! There will be no school this week.

Legacy Day and Dress Down Days
Our next Dress Down Day is Thursday, Oct. 17!
Legacy Days will also be Fun Fridays! After school at both gates there will be fun snack sales that will cost between $0.50 and $1. Please come with exact change.
This school year, our Legacy campuses can display their Legacy pride with two campus-spirited events; Legacy Days and Dress Down Days.
Legacy Days are celebrated on the last Friday of each month that school is in session. Students are invited to wear Spirit T-shirts (ordered through the Legacy site or PTO/PVO) or regular uniform polos.
Dress Down Days are themed spirit days. Students are welcome to dress according to the spirit theme (i.e. Mix and Match Day) or dress in standard uniform polos.

Legacy Traditional Schools - Nevada Mission Statement
From now on, we will be reciting the "Mission Statement" every Monday morning at flag ceremony. We encourage you to spend time with your child reviewing this statement and commiting it to memory. It is a great reminder of what we accomplish every day here at Legacy.

Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our campus from Oct. 14-18! Stop by and check out the artic-themed event complete with tons of books and fun toys!
Book Fair Hours:
Oct. 14-16: Before school, after school until 4 p.m., or during library time
Oct. 17: Half Day, 7:30-1:00pm
Oct. 18: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

Glow Dance
Our first school dance will be held on Friday, Nov. 1 from 4:30-8 p.m.
The theme of the dance is "glow" and students are encouraged to wear white shirts or a neon color that will glow under a blacklight. Students are still expected to follow all school guidelines in regards to attire. If it's not appropriate for dress down day at school, it's not appropriate for the dance.
The dance is for grades 5-8 but times will be broken out by grade levels.
- 4:30-6 p.m. - Grades 5-6 dance begins. Drop off at the front office.
- 6-6:30 p.m. - Clean up crew. Reset venue for next group.
- 6:30-8 p.m. - Grades 7-8 dance begins. Drop off at the front office.
Grades 5-6 need to be picked up no later than 6:05 p.m. Pick up at the purple gate.
Grades 7-8 need to be picked up no later than 8:05 pm. Pick up at the purple gate.

Refreshments, glow necklaces/bracelets and other glow items will be available for purchase at the dance.

Yearbooks are on sale now and can be purchased through March 25.

Sports Practices
Sports practices for sixth-eighth grade volleyball, flag football, and cross country practice on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Parents - Things to Know
Early dismissal ends at 2:20 p.m. Please plan accordingly. Driveline begins at 2:30 p.m.
The dirt lots that surround all sides of Legacy do not belong to the school. If you park there, you may be cited.
If your student is going to be absent you will need to call our attendance line or email our enrollment office before 10 a.m the day of the absence to have it excused. Our attendance line and email are available 24 hours a day. Our attendance line is 702-637-1776, option 2, or reach out via email here.
A message to your child disrupts the classroom and a possible violation of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act. There is no way to verify the parent or legal or guardian over the phone. If you need to contact your child please come into the office a show a legal photo identification card
Please remind your students that if they are sick, injured, or had an accident they will need to go to the health office to call their parents. Calls inside the classroom are not allowed.

Kindergarten: Now Accepting Applications for 2020-2021

Kindergarten applications for the 2020-2021 school year are now open!
Legacy’s tuition-free kindergarten program empowers young learners to begin their well-rounded education journey and sets them on the right path toward academic success. Our accelerated, back-to-basic curriculum helps your child discover and develop a life-long love of learning.
To submit your child’s application:
- Go to https://legacytraditional.schoolmint.net/welcome
- Create a username and password, and click on the green button labeled Create an Account
- Complete the required online form
- Prior to clicking on submit, make sure you review your child's application to ensure all the information is correct.
After you have submitted your child’s application, you will receive an email confirmation.

Legacy Kids Care Job Opportunities
Looking to make a difference? Join Legacy Traditional Schools as a Legacy Kids Care (LKC) Team Member!
Legacy is looking for motivated and positive people to work in our LKC program supervising before and after school care. Responsibilities include assisting during meals/snacks, organizing interactive activities and helping students with homework. Part-time positions are open at all campuses in Arizona and Nevada.
LKC team members also receive free before and after school care for their Legacy children.

Picture Day Dress Code
Fall Picture Day
Fall picture day is a normal school uniform day, in which students will be required to be in uniform for yearbook and class photos. All students will be photographed regardless of purchase.
Fall retakes will occur later in the fall, in uniform, 1-2 months following picture day. An additional fall retake will occur after the holiday break in January or early February, to capture students in uniform for the yearbook.
Spring Picture Day
Spring picture day is a “dress-up day,” in which students may wear their school uniform or “dress-up” for school pictures. “Dress-up” clothes and footwear need to be modest, appropriate and fall within the dress code guidelines for fit, length, and neatness. This is an additional opportunity for families to purchase pictures, however, it is not required.
