Overall crash fatalities decreased in Virginia in 2018 to 819 from 843 in 2017, but alcohol-related fatalities have risen 12% (from 248 in 2017 to 278 in 2018) and teen crashes have risen 23% (from 57 in 2017 to 70 in 2018).
