This great article in the Washington Post discusses a newly release Policy Statement from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) regarding underage drinking. The AAP recommends, along with a number of other strategies, what MADD has been saying for years - that adults must send clear messaging against the use of alcohol by adolescents and young adults under the age of 21.
MADD and the VA ABC have the tools to help!! Visit the MADD website for videos with experts and downloadable parent handbooks. At the VA ABC website, you can order Power of Parents handbooks “Talking with Teens about Alcohol”, watch a Power of Parents underage drinking prevention webinar, or request a Power of Parents presentation in your community.
