Dear Sycamore Community School District 427 Families,
I want to thank you for your continuing support as we work through this unprecedented time together. We miss having your students and our staff in the buildings with their amazing talents but are learning to appreciate seeing their creativity through virtual means in order to keep everyone safe at this time. I continue to be impressed with the creativity, grit, and Spartan Spirit of our entire community.
Please find additional information below regarding eLearning and Meal Distribution for this week. All of the District’s buildings will remain closed to students and staff until further notice - this includes all activities and the District’s OSCAR program. If you are in need of assistance, please email your building’s principal or contact us at communications@syc427.org. You can also leave a message at (815) 899-8100 beginning Monday, March 30, 2020.
The District’s eLearning plan will continue Monday, March 30, 2020. In the coming days, processes and procedures may change regarding grading and attendance procedures as we receive further guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education and in collaboration with District staff. Any changes regarding grading and/or attendance will be communicated from the District.
Monday, March 30, 2020 eLearning Resumes eLearning activities will resume and these will be posted to our eLearning webpage by 9:00 AM each day for our elementary students. Middle school and high school students will receive these activities via their Google Classroom and/or Canvas accounts.
We will continue to support our students needing meals during the closure. We ask that you please complete the following Breakfast and Lunch order form for the week of Monday, March 30, 2020. Meals will be available for pick-up at Sycamore High School on Monday, March 30, 2020 (3 days of meals will be provided), and Thursday, April 2, 2020 (2 days of meals will be provided). Please complete the form by 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2020. As we move forward together, please keep in mind those who are having challenges during these times with health and/or financial hardship and reach out to support them in safe ways.
Sycamore is a place that rises to challenges in support of each other, I am proud and feel lucky to be a part of this community. Sincerely,
