Dear Sycamore Community School District 427 Families,
I hope this finds your family well. I want to thank you for the many “Shout Outs” sent to our staff during Staff Appreciation Week. We are so fortunate to have dedicated staff, parents, and students - not just this week, but throughout the year. It is truly a team effort - Spartans Together.
As we continue to receive guidance provided by the Governor’s Office regarding reopening of Illinois and large group gatherings it is hard to predict when we will be able to reschedule this year’s Orchesis show in its original format. As we are on hold, we are excited to announce the District will be airing a four-week docuseries of this year's show. This special event will include the showing of the final dress rehearsal, plus interviews from Orchesis officers, directors, and the Technical Entertainment Crew members. These four episodes will air on SpartanTV each Wednesday starting May 13, 2020, at 7:00 PM. Additional information on how to watch will be shared next week. This project is being produced by a group of students working together remotely - we are extremely proud of their work!
The District will continue to follow the eLearning Plan that has been in place since the initial school building closure on Monday, March 16, 2020. Our previous communications regarding the plan can be found on our COVID-19 Resources and Information webpage.
Elementary and Middle School student items are currently being organized for curbside pick-up at a later date. The pick-up process for these items will be communicated by each building in their weekly message to families in late May. A plan for high school student’s items will be pushed out by Sycamore High School administration as it becomes available.
Meal Distribution We will continue to support our students needing meals during the closure. We ask that you please complete the following Breakfast and Lunch order form for the week of Monday, May 11, 2020. Meals will be available for pick-up at Sycamore High School on Monday, May 11, 2020 (3 days of meals will be provided), and Thursday, May 14, 2020 (2 days of meals will be provided).
