Evergreen Park Community High School has once again attained the second-highest rating of Commendable on our School Report Card. While we are proud of our accomplishments, we continue to strive for the highest rating of Exemplary. In order to achieve this, we have to improve in some categories to get there which, in turn, will benefit the successes of our students.
The focus last year was to increase our graduation rate and the rate of 9th graders on track to graduate. We attained last year's goal by increasing our graduation rate from 93% to 96% and our 9th graders on track to graduate to 91% compared to 82% the prior year. Our post-secondary enrollment in colleges and universities increased from 71% to 84%.
Our student attendance improved to 95%, however, we need to reduce our chronic absenteeism for our District. This is defined as a student that misses 10% or more of their school days. For us, this means any student missing 17 or more days of school falls into the category of Chronic Absenteeism, which is far too many days to be out of school and still be successful.
All the research statistics bare the same results; student success is tied to student attendance! It is critical for our students to be in school each and every day in order to receive the proper instruction. Missing school triggers additional social-emotional problems for our students.
Parents and guardians, we are asking you to assist us in creating the best high school experience for your students by continuing to encourage them to attend school on a regular basis! Working together, we will ensure our students reach their educational goals!

Don't Miss Christmas by Remote Control We hope you will join Eddie on a magical journey to find his Christmas spirit with the help of Santa’s magical remote control. This nostalgic musical review will delight the young and the young at heart with its traditional favorites and contemporary hits. Christmas by Remote Control was conceived by Ed Fudacz and debuted in the early 1990's with the Beverly Theatre Guild. This is the 4th presentation of the show at EPCHS, and it features a cast of over 80 students from grades 4-12.
The show will take place on Friday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, December 14, a special dinner package is available. Dinner begins at 5:00 p.m. and features pictures with Santa, music from the Madrigal Singers, and wandering comedic sketches. The dinner menu includes turkey, ham, sides, dessert, and beverages catered by the Country House Restaurant. The last show will take place on Sunday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m.
Mustang Café Open for Business On Thursday, November 21 EPCHS opened its new Mustang Café in the school's LRC/Library. The idea originally came up when the LRC was being designed and looking at what other schools have to serve their students.
Employees at the café include Athletic Leadership students as well as AERO students. The Mustang Café is a way for students to get real life job experience by buying and selling products, and keeping track of inventory.
