Featured IACMI Speaker Jose Chirino to Address Circular Economy for Automotive Plastics and Polymer Composites Roadmap
There's still time to register for our Virtual Fall 2020 Members Meeting beginning Wednesday, October 7 as we welcome featured speaker Jose Chirino!
Chirino serves as the Chair for the American Chemistry Council's Automotive team, which is a a pre-competitive forum of plastics industry experts promoting broader polymer solutions for the automotive industry.
He's also the Technical Director for the High-Performance Materials business unit at LANXESS Corporation, leading the Americas technical team on the development of new products and applications for engineering plastics in automotive and the electronics industries.
During his presentation, Chirino will discuss the requirements and opportunities for the automotive industry and its suppliers to rethink the ways that vehicles and their materials are designed, constructed, used, and handled at end of life.
As circularity grows in importance, the plastics and polymer composites industry is committed to working together and with part suppliers and automakers to help the automotive industry transition to a more circular economy.
Chirino's 20 years of experience in plastics encompasses the spectrum of production to end-product and design through application development with various polymers such as: polyurethanes, polycarbonate, polyesters and polyamides.
He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Our two-day members meeting on October 7 and 8 will feature high-level speakers, panel discussions, breakout sessions and multiple working groups focusing on market-driven themes and advanced technology.
